commission information
I can be commissioned to do Furcadia portraits or other such things. Furcadia ports have set prices, other such things don't and can be worked out between myself and the commissioner. There are a few things that should be noted, such as the fact that my art is rather odd and not of the norm, and the commissioner should not expect a dazzling beauty with a slutty smile. Half the time I don't even bother with faces, because I believe a character should not be permanently horny/happy/sad/curious. Another important thing to note is that when I do a port I generally just speed right through it in an hour or two, completely skipping sketching and outlining and whatnot and just doing whatever as I go. So if you want to see stages of a portrait, please tell me beforehand, otherwise you'll only see the finished product. I figure the finished product looks better than a sketch anyway, and I can always redo or sod off if it's completely horrible.
Which brings up another point. If you don't like something about a portrait I made you, for christ's sake,
say so. I want my time and your money to go to use, and that won't happen if you just go 'oh yeah i love it omg!!!1' when you really have issues with it. If you're nice about it I'll do anything from small changes to a complete redo. The reason I stress this is that, a long time ago, I was timid about insulting artists, so I never really asked for any changes. So the one time I actually saw something really wrong with a port I had commissioned, I asked for changes and the artist went completely ballistic on me, saying she couldn't put up with it and to just forget it. I, of course, apologized profusely, since she wasn't even going to bother giving me the port without changes. But I felt like complete shit for expressing my opinion about something I was paying for, just because some tart couldn't accept that she wasn't perfect. So I want to make sure people actually get what they're paying for, something they're happy with, not something they'll write off as a loss and forget about.
Moving right along, though. Prices! My art is worth as much as you're willing to pay, but generally I ask for a space or 5 GDS, at least. My time is worth something too, right? I also accept used wings/avatars and an SS renewal. Prices are negotiable, of course, but you won't get the art until I'm paid, to protect myself from being screwed over.
So, to conclude this ESSAY, you can whisper me on Furc (Xikali), note me on dA (Poth), or send me an email (growlinglightbulb@gmail.com) to request a commission. I'm usually open, but either way I'll get back to you ASAP. I'll need a general description of your character - the sky is the limit, save for the restrictions of my style and my ability. But keep in mind the more I know the more likely it'll be that you'll get what you want. :)
